Are Emotions Controlling You?

Emotions play a big part in our life. They are at work 24 hours a day in our work, rest, play, family, job, and how we love others. It is vital that we recognise our emotions and don’t allow them to control us as this not only effects us but those around us.

Do you allow emotions to control your life and as a consequence your actions and the consequences of them? What do you do when you feel a surge of emotion that is having a negative impact on you and those around you?

What happens when your emotions start speaking negative thoughts to you, maybe about your family and friends?

Many of us in some way or another allow our emotions to control us. We have a difficult time in allowing God to take control even though we know this is the right path to take. Why do you think that is? Why does God allow that to happen?

It is because on this earth we are imperfect and we allow sin to rule and its because we are not heeding a still small voice that if we listen will guide us in a straight path.

God wants us to give him our imperfections and He will make things right in His way. God wants our feelings to create the positive and not the negative.

Its fine to have feelings but it is how we express them that is important. How we handle our feelings and emotions and express ourselves can make or break relationships. It would be wrong to be devoid of emotions, but are they in line with the written word of God and what God is saying to us. We are to listen to Him whilst we have the emotion, or how He has spoken to us relative to that situation maybe in times past.

Some days we just feel yuky as my grandson would express himself, and yEmotionsuky is how we then treat people around us

Are we allowing our emotions to control who God wants us to be. We have inside of us great potential, just waiting to express itself. Have we submitted the bitter, resentment, hurt, disappointment, rejection to God or have we determined even subconsciously to operate selfishly and dictate how we will handle our situation’s. How can we cut off and move away from the selfish me?

We can free ourselves of the negative emotions that persistently upset the apple cart in our life. We may need help from a wise reliable friend to bring wisdom for us to heed, thus enabling us to move away from a lifestyle where our emotions dictate our daily life and potentially feed untruths that influence us.

Sadly there are those who haven’t allowed God to take full control of every aspect of their life. You see there isn’t a natural life and a spiritual life two separate areas. It is to recognise that we must be spiritually natural and naturally spiritual.

The Message Bible says I Corinthians 2:12 says The Spirit, not content to flit around on the surface, dives into the depths of God, and brings out what God planned all along. Who ever knows what you’re thinking and planning except you yourself? The same with God except that he not only knows what he’s thinking, but he lets us in on it. God offers a full report on the gifts of life and salvation that he is giving us. We don’t have to rely on the world’s guesses and opinions. We didn’t learn this by reading books or going to school; we learned it from God, who taught us person-to-person through Jesus, and we’re passing it on to you in the same firsthand, personal way.

So if we listen to God He lets us in on what He has planned we don’t have to rely on the uncertainty, but have a knowledge that He knows what has happened and is happening and in full control and so we can rest in that certainty.

Do you understand and appreciate what you have in God, and what He has made available to us?

We can have an increased awareness in our personality by giving our past hurts and pains to God, and we don’t have to get all religious about it.

When you realise the potential within you and recognise who God says you are. You are released from what man says or thinks and embark in a life drawing on resources He has left at our disposal.
